Parvaaz make slow-burning, psychedelic rock with lyrics in Hindustani, Urdu and Kashmiri. The Bengaluru band built its name on long songs that drift, swell and then explode, and on a singer, Khalid Ahamed, whose voice carries the poetry of Kashmir into a rock band. They do not release often, which makes each record matter. This guide goes through every Parvaaz album and EP on Apple Music India, from the Behosh EP to Na Gul Na Gulistan.

How we checked. Dates and track counts come from Apple Music India (iTunes catalogue, country IN), checked on 28 October 2026. Several early Parvaaz releases now carry a 2026 copyright line on Apple because they were re-released by the band; we use Apple's original release date. Released music only.

Quick answer: Parvaaz albums and EPs

  • Behosh – EP, 5 tracks (12 June 2013).
  • Baran – album, 8 tracks (14 August 2014).
  • Kun – album, 9 tracks (17 October 2019).
  • Na Gul Na Gulistan – album, 8 tracks (5 December 2025).

That is one EP and three full albums.

The records, in order

Behosh (EP, 12 June 2013, 5 tracks). The first Parvaaz record. Five songs: "Behosh" (featuring Jerome Mascarenhas), "Marika", "Itne Arsay Ke Baad", "Dil Khush" (featuring Neil Simon Abel) and "Lolmatlai". The sound is already there: chiming guitars, a patient build and a voice that sounds older than the band. A single, "Khufiya Dastaan", is dated just before it (23 May 2013). Start with: "Behosh".

Baran (album, 14 August 2014, 8 tracks). The debut album and, for many fans, still the essential Parvaaz record. Eight songs: "Beparwah", "Ab Ki Yeh Subah", "Gul Gulshan", "Roz Roz", "Baran", "Ghaib", "Fitnah" and "Ziyankar". Baran means rain, and the album moves like weather, from quiet verses to storms of guitar. "Beparwah" and "Roz Roz" are the songs most people meet first. Start with: "Beparwah".

Kun (album, 17 October 2019, 9 tracks). Five years later, a darker and heavier album. "Kun", "Harf", "Mushq-E-Gul", "Soye Ja", "Shabaan", "Zindaano", "Katyi Rov", "Mastaan" and "Dasht-Ba-Dasht". The songs are longer and the playing is tighter. Before Kun, the band released the singles "Shaad" and "Color White" (2017), and "Zubaan" appeared as an Equals Sessions single in July 2019. Start with: "Kun", then "Mushq-E-Gul".

Na Gul Na Gulistan (album, 5 December 2025, 8 tracks). The band's third album, released under exclusive licence to AWAL. Eight songs: "Hu", "Talafi", "Dogma", "Faani", "Kauaʻi ʻōʻō", "Zor-o-Zar", "Khwab Gah" and the title track. It was trailed by two singles, "Kauaʻi ʻōʻō" (5 November 2025) and "Na Gul Na Gulistan" (20 November 2025). The title translates roughly as "neither flower nor garden", and the record has some of the band's most open, spacious playing. Start with: "Na Gul Na Gulistan".

Ten Parvaaz songs to know

If you would rather start with songs than whole records, these ten cover every era of the band on Apple Music India:

  • "Behosh" (Behosh, 2013) – where it all began.
  • "Dil Khush" (Behosh, 2013) – lighter and brighter.
  • "Beparwah" (Baran, 2014) – the song most fans meet first.
  • "Roz Roz" (Baran, 2014) – a slow build to a huge finish.
  • "Baran" (Baran, 2014) – the title track, all rain and guitar.
  • "Kun" (Kun, 2019) – the heavier Parvaaz.
  • "Mushq-E-Gul" (Kun, 2019) – one of their most melodic songs.
  • "Dasht-Ba-Dasht" (Kun, 2019) – a long, wandering closer.
  • "Kauaʻi ʻōʻō" (Na Gul Na Gulistan, 2025) – the first single from the new era.
  • "Na Gul Na Gulistan" (2025) – the title track and the best entry to the latest album.

What makes the Parvaaz sound

  • The language. Songs in Hindustani, Urdu and Kashmiri, often drawing on Sufi and folk poetry rather than everyday pop lyrics.
  • The patience. Parvaaz songs take their time. Many build for minutes before the big moment arrives.
  • The guitars. Layered, psychedelic and sometimes very heavy, more like 1970s rock than modern indie.
  • The voice. Khalid Ahamed's singing gives the band its identity: warm, mournful and very clear.

How the band changed

Behosh and Baran are a young band discovering how big their songs can be. Kun is heavier and more ambitious. Na Gul Na Gulistan is the most reflective, a band that knows exactly what it sounds like and can afford to slow down.

Where to start

  • First listen: Baran.
  • For heavier, longer songs: Kun.
