Kerala has one of India's strongest independent music cultures. Many of its bands came up through TV sessions and college stages, and they sing in Malayalam, English and Tamil, sometimes all on one album.

These five range from folk-rock fusion to metal to bright English indie pop. All of them were releasing music between 2023 and 2026.

Each entry has a short profile and three tracks.

For the 2000s groundwork, see Avial and Motherjane. For the full scene guide, read Kerala Indie Music Scene.
