Taba Chake

Taba Chake is a fingerstyle guitarist, multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter from Khunglo village in the Papum Pare district of Arunachal Pradesh. He belongs to the Nyishi community and was born in 1992. He started writing songs at about fifteen, around 2007, and speaks five languages. He writes in his native Nyishi as well as Hindi, Assamese and English. Wikipedia describes him as the first Arunachal artist to put Nyishi songs on streaming platforms and the first from the state to tour nationally.

His album Bombay Dreams, released in 2019, contains the songs he is best known for, including Aao Chalein, Shaayad and Walk With Me. Later releases include the single Blush in 2020, Monot Pore in 2023, the EP I Want to Talk and the single Kahani in 2024, the album Khud Ko Miloon in 2025, and the singles Ho Jayenge Ghum and La La Land in 2026. His music combines folk, indie and contemporary styles. He serves as brand ambassador for Arunachal Pradesh's Department of Arts and Culture.
