KR$NA is the stage name of Krishna Kaul, a Delhi rapper from a Kashmiri Pandit family who has also recorded as Krsna and, early on, as Prozpekt and YoungProzpekt. He spent part of his childhood in south London and began rapping at fourteen, partly to fit in at school there. At Hansraj College in Delhi he formed a crew with friends called Illicit Cash Mob, and in 2008 he moved to Mumbai to study public relations at the Xavier Institute of Communications.

Wikipedia counts him among the earliest rappers in India's hip-hop scene in the mid-2000s, and credits him with pushing the genre toward denser, more poetic writing. He appeared as himself in the 2019 film Gully Boy. His first album, Sellout, came out in 2014, followed by Still Here in 2021. He has also released a steady stream of singles, among them Makasam, Machayenge 4 and No Cap, plus the EPs Far From Over and Time Will Tell (both 2023) and For the Day One$ (2024). Labels connected with his work include Kalamkaar, Universal Music India and Zee Music Company.
