Divine is the stage name of Vivian Wilson Fernandes, a rapper and songwriter born in 1990 in Mumbai. Wikipedia credits him as one of the pioneers of Indian hip-hop and one of the artists who brought it to a mainstream audience. Much of his writing draws on growing up in the chawls of Mumbai and deals with street life, hardship and ambition.

He began to build an audience with the single Yeh Mera Bombay in 2013, and broke through in 2015 with Mere Gully Mein, a collaboration with fellow Mumbai rapper Naezy. His debut album, Kohinoor, came out in 2019 through Mass Appeal India and his own label, Gully Gang. Punya Paap followed in 2020 and topped Apple Music India; in December that year he became the first Indian rapper featured on Spotify's Times Square billboard in New York. He attended the 64th Grammy Awards in 2022, the first Indian hip-hop artist to do so. His third album, Gunehgar, came out that year, preceded by the single Baazigar with the American rapper Armani White. Street Dreams followed in 2024 and Walking on Water in 2025. Artists he has worked with include Nas, Pusha T, Nucleya and Raja Kumari.
