The Local Train are the Delhi band that made Hindi rock feel like the most natural thing in the world for a generation of college listeners. "Choo Lo" became an anthem, and two albums, Aalas Ka Pedh (2015) and Vaaqif (2018), are full of songs people still sing back at gigs. This is a song-by-song guide to every The Local Train song on Apple Music India: what each one is, when it came out, and where to start.

How we checked. Every date comes from Apple Music India (iTunes catalogue, country IN), checked on 28 October 2026, using each song's own date rather than just the album date. Only released music is covered, and we do not reprint lyrics. For album-by-album detail, see our The Local Train albums guide; for the band's story and lineup, see The Local Train band.

The Aalas Ka Pedh songs (2015)

"Choo Lo". The song that made the band. A slow-burning love song that builds into a huge chorus, and the track most new listeners find first. Our Indian indie songs meaning guide covers it alongside other big Hindi indie songs.

"Aaoge Tum Kabhi". Track two on the album and one of its most-played songs: a song of waiting, with a lift in the chorus that crowds love.

"Manzil". The album opener, a driving rock song about the road ahead. It sets the tone for the whole record.

"Bandey". A punchy, hopeful rock song with a big, shoutable hook.

"Kaisey Jiyun". One of the album's softer moments. The album also closes with an acoustic version, which shows how strong the melody is with just voice and guitar.

"Yeh Zindagi Hai". A life-is-short song with an easy swing. A demo version sits at the end of the album too.

"Dil Mere". A gentle, heartfelt song that many fans pick as their hidden favourite.

The Vaaqif songs (2017–2018)

The band released two songs ahead of the second album. Apple Music India keeps their single dates on the album too.

"Khudi" (10 June 2017). A strong comeback single about self-belief, and the first new music after Aalas Ka Pedh.

"Aaftaab" (14 November 2017). A bright, sunny love song that became one of the band's best-known tracks after "Choo Lo".

The other six songs are dated 29 January 2018, the day Vaaqif came out:

"Gustaakh". The album opener: heavier guitars and a more grown-up sound.

"Dilnawaz". A tender love song and a fan favourite from the second album.

"Mere Yaar". A song about friendship, warm and singalong.

"Mizaaj". A moody, mid-tempo track with a strong groove.

"Aakhri Salaam". A farewell song with real weight, and one of the band's most emotional.

"Vaaqif". The title track closes the album.

After Vaaqif

Since 2018 The Local Train have not released a third album on Apple Music India. Their name appears on two later releases:

  • "The Gore" (22 August 2023) – a single credited to Aethan, The Local Train and Demonx.
  • "Tu Hai Kahaan" (2 April 2024) – a single from the Do Aur Do Pyaar soundtrack, credited to Lucky Ali, The Local Train and Paras Thakur. The full Do Aur Do Pyaar soundtrack (15 April 2024, 7 tracks) is a film album and is not covered here. Read more in our Lucky Ali songs guide.

Apple also lists the Angry Indian Goddesses film soundtrack (16 November 2015, 5 tracks), which includes the band among its credited artists. It is a film album, not a The Local Train record.

Where to start
