Lollapalooza India 2027: The Indian Acts on the Bill

Lollapalooza India returns to Mumbai's Mahalaxmi Race Course on January 23 and 24, 2027. Live Nation announced the lineup on September 3, 2026, with Olivia Dean, Limp Bizkit, KATSEYE and Fontaines D.C. as headliners. Most of the coverage has focused on those international names. This story is about the rest of the poster: the Indian acts. Variety India counted 26 Indian indie acts, including artists of Indian origin, among 45 on the bill, up from 15 Indian acts on last year's lineup.

The festival at a glance

Dates and venue

The 2027 festival is the fifth edition of Lollapalooza India. It runs on Saturday January 23 and Sunday January 24 at Mahalaxmi Race Course, with four stages and more than 40 performances, according to The Hindu and Time Out Mumbai.

The headliners

Live Nation named Olivia Dean, Limp Bizkit, KATSEYE and Fontaines D.C. as headliners. It also said the festival will be the first Indian show for Dean, Limp Bizkit, KATSEYE, Fontaines D.C. and several others.

Time Out Mumbai published the day-wise lineup. Its day-one Indian names include:

Also on the bill

The Hindu and Indian Express also list The Lightyears Explode, which Variety India describes as a three-piece punk band from Mumbai, and Anoushka Maskey. Time Out's day-wise article does not place either act on a day.

Why it matters

CNBC-TV18 describes Aditya Gadhvi as bringing Gujarat's oral traditions, Charani literature and Sufi poetry to the festival stage. Booking him alongside The Manganiyar Seduction makes folk music one of the defining features of day two.

Four Indian sets to circle

Indian Ocean

Indian Ocean formed in New Delhi in 1990 and are widely seen as pioneers of fusion rock in India. "Kandisa" and "Ma Rewa", both from the 2000 album Kandisa, were on Rolling Stone India's 2014 list of the 25 greatest Indian rock songs of the previous 25 years.

Anuv Jain

The Indian Express says Jain is set to perform songs including "Baarishein" and "Gul". He was on the Forbes India 30 Under 30 list in 2023.

Stewart Copeland & Ricky Kej

The Police drummer and the three-time Grammy winner are performing together, in a set that the Indian Express says will combine rock, orchestral music and Hindustani classical music.

The Manganiyar Seduction

Director Roysten Abel's production puts more than 40 Manganiyar musicians from Rajasthan on stage. It opened in New Delhi in 2006 and has since travelled to the UK, US, Germany, Austria and Australia.

Genre spread

On paper, the Indian lineup covers fusion rock (Indian Ocean), guitar music (Blackstratblues), singer-songwriters (Anuv Jain), Gujarati folk (Aditya Gadhvi) and Rajasthani folk (The Manganiyar Seduction), along with rap, punk and electronic acts.
