Dualist Inquiry is the project of Sahej Bakshi, the producer who plays guitar over his own electronic tracks. His songs, from "Qualia" in 2011 to "Get You Back" in 2025, helped define the sound of the Indian electronic festival era. This guide picks the Dualist Inquiry songs to start with, in release order, with dates from Apple Music India.
How we checked. Every date comes from Apple Music India (iTunes catalogue, country IN), checked on 28 October 2026, at song level. Where a song came out as a single before its EP or album, we give the single's date. Only released music is covered. This page is about songs. For the records one by one, see our Dualist Inquiry albums guide.

The early songs (2011–2014)
"Qualia" and "Orbital". The Dualism EP came out through Audio Aashram on 8 June 2011. "Orbital" opens it and "Qualia" is the track most people remember; there is also a spoken-word edit of "Qualia". These are the songs that first set his guitar lines against club beats.
"Specter", "6am" and "Soleil". Doppelganger, his first album, is dated 25 April 2013 on Apple, but every song carries a 15 March 2013 date. "Specter" opens it, "6am" is its most melodic moment and "Soleil" closes it. Other songs to try: "Exile", "Origin" and "Blitzkrieg".
"Lumina" and "Landslide". "Lumina" was a standalone single on 10 September 2014, two days after the Natural Disasters EP. From that EP, "Landslide" is the pick, with "Departure", "Come On" and "Aftermath" around it.
Dreamcatcher (2016)
Dreamcatcher is his biggest record, twelve songs dated 12 September 2016. Three to start with:
- "Moongaze", the second track, is one of his best-known tracks and a good first listen for the album.
- "Zero Hour" features singer Kavya Trehan, who also appears on "Opaque" later in the album.
- "For Joss" features Sohrab Nicholson.
Also on Dreamcatcher: "Divide", "Sleepwalker", "Delirium", "Meraki", "Monument", "Rivals" and "Violet".
Singles and EPs (2018–2022)
"Mayday" and "Fever Dream". Two singles two weeks apart in spring 2018, on his own Dualism Records. They are more direct and dancefloor-focused than Dreamcatcher. In September 2018 he also released a four-track remix set of "You & Me" featuring Sanchal Malhar.
"Life Forms". The title track of a four-song EP from 15 November 2019, with "Delta Wave", "Echo Park" and a club edit of "Life Forms".
"Closer". A November 2020 single with Sanchal Malhar, released through Universal Music India.
"Discovery". The first song from the Daybreak EP, dated 12 August 2022. "Friendly Voices" and "Two Worlds" followed on 26 August and "High & Dry" on 9 September, a week before the EP.
When We Get There (2024)
His second full album, dated 16 February 2024. Three songs came out first: "All There Is" (1 December 2023), "When We Get There" (19 January 2024) and "Bloom" (2 February 2024). The rest, including "Coming Alive", "Days Away", "Mother", "Times Go By", "I Need to Know" and "My Fire My Light", arrived with the album. Start with the title track.
The latest songs
- "Take Me Home" (11 October 2024) features singer Ramya Pothuri, with a dub version on the same release.
- "Get You Back" (30 July 2025) is his most recent release on Apple Music India at the time of checking.
Apple also carries The B-Side Of India: Dualist Inquiry (14 February 2025), a DJ mix rather than new songs.
What is left out
- Remixes he made of other artists, and the remix versions of his own songs.
- Collaborations credited mainly to other artists, such as "Dualistinquiry But Sad" with Cazy (2021).
- "No Escape" with Rudy Mukta (2023) is a good listen but sits outside the main run; try it after the list above.
How the songs changed
Across fourteen years the basic idea has stayed the same: a guitar melody carried by electronic production. What changed is the space around it. The early EPs and Doppelganger are mostly instrumental and built for clubs. Dreamcatcher brought in guest singers and longer, more patient arrangements. The 2018 singles went back to the dancefloor, and the 2020s releases, from Daybreak to When We Get There and "Take Me Home", lean warmer and more song-shaped, often with a vocalist at the centre.
Where to start
- One song: "Moongaze".
- With vocals: "Zero Hour" or "Take Me Home".
- Newest: "Get You Back".
