Shor Police

Shor Police is a Mumbai electro-pop duo of vocalist-composer Clinton Cerejo and singer-songwriter Bianca Gomes. Rolling Stone India’s March 2021 interview describes a sound that folds R&B, folk, Indian classical, jazz, funk, and soul into electro-pop, and it places their earlier work together on Coke Studio tracks Mauje Naina and Aisi Bani and on film songs including Manhattan from English Vinglish, Rootha from Te3n, and Lamhon Ke Rasgulle from Kahaani 2, before the duo leaned into pop under the Shor Police name in 2018. The piece also notes an earlier collaboration band, Ananthaal, with Vijay Prakash.

Hindustan Times, speaking with them as the pop band launched, quotes Cerejo saying his wife Dominique Cerejo suggested the name, and it identifies Anjaana as an early funky single. Gomes describes the aim as catchy pop distinct from Cerejo’s better-known fusion and folk work, while still expecting each song to differ.
