Lifafa

Lifafa is the solo project of Suryakant Samson Sawhney, who is also a founding member and frontman of the Delhi band Peter Cat Recording Co. Wikipedia lists his solo releases as a self-titled record in 2013, In Hi Ko in 2014, Jaago in 2019, SUPERPOWER2020 in 2020 and Ghar: Sounds of Raw Mango, also in 2020.

Jaago brought him wider attention. Its title track became widely used as a protest song, and Wahin Ka Wahin from SUPERPOWER2020, an album largely about social issues, took on a similar role. The closing track of that album, Mandir, which featured Hashback Hashish, was removed after allegations of sexual assault against Hashish surfaced in 2020. Lifafa also performed at Shaheen Bagh as part of Artists Against Communalism during the protests there. His music mixes electronica with pop and rock and has been released through the Pagal Haina label.
