Hari & Sukhmani (also styled Hari + Sukhmani) are a Chandigarh folktronic duo of Hari Singh Jaaj and Sukhmani Malik who fuse Punjabi folk and Sufi poetry—Bulleh Shah, Baba Farid, Kabir, Shah Hussain—with electronic production. Wikipedia notes they met in November 2008, formed in 2009, and keep a minimal chill-out folk presentation rather than hardcore bhangra spectacle; Hari produces and engineers (Doon School, St. Xavier’s Mumbai, audio engineering in Chennai, electronic production study in Manchester), while both sing.
Documented credits include folk song work for Deepa Mehta’s Heaven on Earth (Kangi Bawan), Coke Studio–era visibility referenced in press, The Dewarists collaboration Maati with Trilok Gurtu, later collabs such as Yaariyan with Noori (2016) and Baagey with The Coconut Kids (2019). Apple Music Indian Folk id 964473173 is locked for enrich.
Members[] lists both partners as current. Official site harisukhmani.com is in extraSameAs. Wave 2 leaves hero covers empty and invents no AggregateRating.
Use slug hari-and-sukhmani when the duo is primary. Single-select taxonomy does not force-retagged every Sufi compilation that merely samples their style.
Human intro text remains authoritative when enrich prepends Apple rows. Sources cite Wikipedia and Apple.
Operationally, Discography treats Hari & Sukhmani as an active Chandigarh folktronica duo with verified members, Apple enrich, and empty Wave 2 cover art. Intro word count supports artists.xml inclusion.
Chandigarh folktronica made Sufi poetry playlist-friendly without defaulting to stadium bhangra; Hari & Sukhmani’s Wikipedia-documented duo practice, Dewarists Maati episode, and Apple Folk catalog justify a dedicated Discography hub. Members[] lists Hari Singh Jaaj and Sukhmani Malik as current. Official site is sameAs. Apple id 964473173 is locked for enrich. Wave 2 uploads no hero cover. Editors should credit hari-and-sukhmani when the duo is primary and leave compilation name-drops unretagged. Human intro text remains authoritative. Intro word count clears three hundred words so indexability does not depend on inventing EPs.
