Escher's Knot is a Chennai metal band formed in 2009. The Hindu’s early interview names vocalist Abijith Rao, guitarist Anshuman Mishra, bassist Madhav Ayachit, and drummer Manu Krishnan, says Rao and Mishra started the group after meeting at SAE, and says the name comes from the drawings of M. C. Escher. That piece describes the debut EP Tessellations as technical melodic and groove metal. A May 2010 Headbangers India note says the EP was previewed ahead of a Bangalore launch and quotes Rao thanking Stephen Fimmers for mixing and mastering in Germany.
Rolling Stone India in July 2014 (from the June issue) catches the band after members had scattered — Rao and Ayachit toward Bengaluru, Mishra toward Delhi, Krishnan still in Chennai — and after guitarist Siddhartha Ramanathan joined. The single The Grand Design is the comeback the article describes, a short riff song Krishnan and Rao anchor, with a full-length hoped for later. Encyclopaedia Metallum still lists the same five as the current lineup: Ayachit, Krishnan, Mishra, and Rao from 2009, Ramanathan from 2012, and calls the style progressive groove/death metal from Chennai. Discography uses that published lineup and does not invent a later split.
Apple Music id 1487487653 is the lock. The storefront path is eschers-knot; display name on this facet is Escher's Knot. The Wave 3 id note spells the proof EP Tesellations and also names Grand Design. Press and the band’s own early copy spell the EP Tessellations. Enrich should follow titles on this id rather than a hand-typed discography. No AggregateRating is stored.
Members[] lists the five Metallum and Rolling Stone India document. Use slug escher-s-knot when the band is primary. A bill such as Outrage Festival is mention-only if the story is about the festival rather than the band. Wave 3 leaves hero covers empty. Human intro text stays when enrich prepends rows. Editors must not merge an unrelated Escher or knot-themed act. The apostrophe in the display name is editorial; the Apple id segment is numeric and authoritative.
Operationally, Discography treats Escher's Knot as an active Chennai metal band on id 1487487653, with empty Wave 3 cover art and an intro written so the artists.xml gate does not depend on an unlicensed photo or on a guessed album grid.
