Bandish Projekt is the electronic project of Ahmedabad-raised producer, composer and tabla player Mayur Narvekar, and one of the oldest names in Indian electronic music. Narvekar grew up in a family of classical musicians, picked up the dholak as a child and studied tabla under Pandit Divyang Vakil for about two decades. In its early years Bandish Projekt was a group that also included Udyan Sagar, who later became Nucleya; after that line-up split in 2006, Narvekar carried the name on alone and moved to Mumbai in 2008.

The debut album Correkt came out in 2009 on Bheja Fry Records. It was followed by "Brown Skin Beauty" with Last Mango in Paris and the 2011 EP Lover, made with Monica Dogra as Shaa'ir, which was nominated for Best Indian Act at the 2012 MTV EMAs. The second album, Connekt (2014), was produced and mixed by Narvekar and features guests including Runa Rizvi, Shruti Pathak and Mandeep Sethi.

His records mix street percussion, garba and Gujarati folk with drum and bass, dubstep and heavy club bass. The Dakla singles took that folk-electronic idea to a mass audience. Since then he has released The Confluence (2021), Beyond Borders (2024) and the EP Distinct Disruption (February 2025), and composed for the Gujarati film Jhamkudi, which includes "Jogni".
